I wanted to create something simplistic and elegant for our Pixel Kitchen project.  I went with a cool, light-purple color for the background and a three-panel layout, with an i-frames in each respective panel.  The left panel displayed a random splash every time a new page was loaded.  The top-right panel displayed textual content, such as updates, about us, and artist profiles.  And the bottom panel showcased our artwork.
